Our 2025 Continued: April to JuneSnow in April? Yes that happened, maybe we came home to Connecticut too soon. It was good to see Bart's brother Richard and his wife Patty again. One of the benefits of living in the NorthEast. Another benefit is being able to do day trips to NYC. We had lunch with Kitty's son Paul and her grandchildren Jack and Julie. When we were walking down the street together Julie asked Kitty a question to which she did not know the answer and said so. Her granddaughter said, "Oma just ask your phone!" Yes Kitty has perfected the art of saying "Hey Google" with a question and hearing an answer.

We were not home long before it was time to go play in the trials for the various U.S. bridge teams. So we drove to Chicago, stopping to see friends Danny and Sharon Gertsman in Buffalo on the way. While we were in the Chicago area we saw Kitty's cousin Susan Das. We went to the beautiful Morton Arboretum with her and stopped by a sculpture garden in a nearby park. Then on another day off we went down to Chicago to go to the Art Institute with Bart's friend and former cat sitter, Lynn Dee. The spring flowers near where we were playing were also glorious. Too bad the bridge was not more successful. |

Back in Avon, the flowers were glorious! On a particularly hot day our bear came back looking to cool off in his den under our neighbors deck. He was disappointed it was now blocked off! Our good friend Paul Lewis performed a musical evening for his friends. On the way there we attended a "No Kings" protest by the flagpole in Newtown. It turned out another couple who we met at Paul's also were at that protest! We went to a wonderful event organized by Kitty's friend Michelle in Cold Spring Harbor. This included a film that put together a number of famous movie performances of the Hamlet "To be or not to be" speech, Olivier, Branagh, Williamson, Ethan Hawke, and a Russian, with talks afterwards by the people who put it together. We also met a few interesting actors, including Jim Dale whose versatile voice brought the Harry Potter books alive for Kitty. We visited with Kitty's son Paul and family in Bellport which included watching her grandkids in sailing camp. Plus of course only 6 holes of golf due to lightning warnings. Rockie always loves the ferry to Long Island and playing with nephew dog Briscoe. We also managed a dinner with Bart's Choate friend Tony Smith and wife Rosa. |
