Our New House

Our new house at 801 Carlisle is three blocks from the old one. We have redone the plumbing, the electric wiring, the floors, repainted the trim, and buried the outside wires. We knocked together bathrooms, added skylights and a herb window in the kitchen, and opened the two living rooms to each other (adding a parquet floor to the second one). The kitchen, and outdoor patio/courtyard and of course the garden are still in progress. The house is built in a U around a cement patio which we will refloor with saltillo-like tile (matching the new kitchen foor),and add a fountain. We also added a half basketball court in back. Sadly, we had to take the big cottonwood tree down, it was diseased; but we added a small orchard on that side instead (cherries, apricots, and plums) and several trees elsewhere.
The house has three bedrooms, two living rooms, a formal dining room and a detached two car garage and workshop. The third bedroom off the kitchen will be our game room and workout room.

We broke through the wall and added the hall bathroom to the master bathroom. We put a jacuzzi for two in most of that new space. We repainted and tiled. The new laundrey room/closet is to the left of the middle photo behind folding doors.
