Return to Big Sur 2004

We returned to the campground that Steve had visited so many times in his college years for Christmas 2004. We discovered that as beautiful as it is there, we no longer like to be without cell phone service, cable TV, and the internet. A tire went flat on the car and we put on the spare and drove off to find a place to fix it. 10 miles later the spare went flat, still no cell service, 50 miles from the nearest big town ... we drove until we had cell service. They told us 4-5 hours before a tow truck could get to us. We drove on and found an Art Gallery where they let us use the phone to try local places. Finally the lady there was going up to town for a concert so gave us a lift with the tire to Monterey where we got the tire fixed and rented the last car at the airport, a Mercedes. At least the drive up and down Rt 1 was incredibly scenic.
